Many supplies and toys used in preschool are things that you already have or can make. Another mom in your group may
have other items, so between all of you few purchases should be necessary. You might consider a preschool box that rotates with the teaching schedule you have set up. It is a good idea to keep a binder for plans in
the box, too. It should include a contact page with home and cell phone numbers of all parents, any food allergies listed for each child. Have blank forms where the teaching mom can list what she did, skills worked on,
and comments. A very incomplete list of items you may want to have:
outside play equipment or nearby park patio or flat driveway for riding toys balancing items, such as a 2 x 4 board to set on the floor or ground
blocks, Lincoln logs, Legos, or other building toys, puzzles lacing toys and beads, or large buttons pattern beads or attribute blocks or pattern blocks (magnetic?) large nuts, bolts, screws, block of screws hoola hoops, jump ropes, balls, hopping ball modeling beeswax or clay; rhythm band, CD’s (classical and children’s) magnetic lowercase letters, alphabet puzzles, games objects to count, counting puzzles, number stencils balance for comparing weights, magnifying glass arts & crafts supplies, Etch-a-Sketch
Things you could make to save money: bean bags;silk dancing/juggling scarves; building blocks if well sanded. |
